Learning short story texts among students sometimes makes things boring especially if it is not supported by teaching materials that are not in accordance with the development and ability of students character.
The shortage of short story text teaching materials can be overcome by the preparation of teaching materials that focus on character education.Preparation of short story text teaching materials begins with a study of genetic structure and character education in the Kompas 2015 short stories.
A collection of selected short stories in Kompas 2015 is analyzed based on genetic structure and character education used to compile short story text teaching materials.The authors hope that this paper can be a means and contribution to the field of short literature and in the field of literature in general.
